Junior High Counselor Corner

"The Alexander School Counselors will support students in the areas of Academic, Career, and Personal/Social Development so that they may become responsible members of a diverse community."

Meet Your Counselor

My name is Marideth Rock and I am entering my 6th year as the junior high school counselor at Alexander. I received my bachelor's degree in Integrated Social Studies Education from Ohio University in 2008 and completed my Master's Degree in Education in School Counseling from the University of the Southwest in 2014.

Prior to working at Alexander I was a middle school Social Studies teacher at Toronto City Schools (my alma mater) and then a high school counselor for the Logan- Hocking School District. Alexander has by far been my favorite place to be. The students are wonderful (Thanks to all of the parents out there!), the staff is kind and supportive, and our leadership is strong.

Being a school counselor has been my dream job. I love working with students one on one to help them achieve their goals and resolve problems. I also love working as our students' support system and advocate at school.

A little bit about me outside of the school setting; I have a 7 year old son, Porter, who also attends Alexander. When we are together we love playing Minecraft, going for hikes, swimming, and going to the library. In my spare time I love hiking, reading, running, seeing live music, cooking, and traveling.
